Nation’s Largest Free Ballooning Event Seeks Volunteers
Help the 2009 Great Reno Balloon Race Take Flight

(RENO, Nev.) - By joining the Aeronauts, the official volunteer group of The Great Reno Balloon Race, you can get up close and personal with hot air balloons about to take flight. Now is the time to register to volunteer for this year’s event, taking place Sept. 11 through 13 at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park near downtown Reno.

As a member of the Aeronauts, you will play a fundamental role in making sure Reno’s beloved annual event is a great success. While there is a lot to learn, the Aeronauts are ready and willing to teach you all you need to know in preparation for the event. Monthly meetings are held with a final run-through at the event site in September.

Shifts at the event are typically four to six hours and are flexible. Help is needed in the following areas: field set-up and breakdown, security, up keep of the grounds, pilot crew, silent auction and other miscellaneous tasks.

For more information on becoming a volunteer, including applications and shift times, visit www.renoballoon.com or call (775) 826-1181.

Thanks to the continued support of generous sponsors, The Great Reno Balloon Race continues as a free event for its 28th year. This year’s major sponsors include: Wells Fargo Bank, Wilbur D. May Foundation, Silver Legacy Resort Casino, Peppermill Hotel Casino, Harrah’s Reno, Curves, City of Reno, Jack in the Box, Great Basin Internet Services, Communications Installation Services Inc.
