Only Two Weeks Left to Sponsor the 2010 Great Reno Balloon Race Get a bird’s eye view and promote your business

(RENO, Nev.) – The Great Reno Balloon Race is a non-profit event produced for the community, by the community, and still needs sponsors for 2010. Local businesses, organizations and balloon-loving families have until July 15 to become a sponsor of this prestigious event, which attracts more than 150,000 spectators from near and far.

While officials are getting creative to stretch every dollar, the event has lost a few major sponsors and still needs to raise approximately $35,000 to fill the gap left by these sponsors. One of the new and exciting ways the Balloon Race is raising funds was the Love is in the Air Wedding auction, which brought in nearly $10,000, the price of a major sponsorship.

Sponsorships are the one and only way to secure balloon rides at the Balloon Race, and they are a great way to show client or employee appreciation, celebrate a birthday or anniversary. Major sponsorships may be hard to come by, but the community is showing its support with increased Corporate and Family Sponsorships. Balloon Race sponsorship prices are extremely affordable, and the remaining dollars can be raised with just seven Silver Sponsors, 20 Corporate Sponsors or 40 Family Sponsors.

“We are proud to offer such an awe inspiring event to the community free of charge,” Pilar Aldecoatalora, President of the Balloon Race Board, said. “But to keep the same quality of event our community has come to know and love, we need your support through sponsorships. Becoming a sponsor is easy and the best way to support The Great Reno Balloon Race.”

The Balloon Race is the nation’s largest free hot-air balloon festival and takes flight Sept. 10 – 12, 2010 at Rancho San Rafael Regional Park. For more information on how you can become a sponsor and support one of the area’s most beloved events, visit www.renoballoon.com or call (775) 826-1181.

Thanks to the continued support of generous sponsors, The Great Reno Balloon Race continues as a free event for its 29th year. This year’s major sponsors include: Wells Fargo Bank, Wilbur D. May Foundation, Silver Legacy Resort Casino, Peppermill Hotel Casino, Harrah’s Reno, City of Reno, Jack in the Box, Great Basin Internet Services, News Talk 780 KOH, Bonanza Casino, Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority. With a special thanks to our Founding Sponsors: Circus Circus, IGT, Sands Regency Casino Hotel, Muckel Anderson CPAs and the University of Nevada, Reno.
